Getting to the top without really trying
Search engine egotism at full!
Right at this very moment, a search on ‘Kaf’ (that would be little old me’s nickname) at MSN’s Search engine results in the #1 and #3 positions going to this humble blogger. For ‘Kafkaesquí’ I expect, even demand, first placement. I consider it just compensation. But for Kaf?
From referrals to the site I’ve known that Google, for the past six months or so, has positioned my top-level site as the number 2 link for it (guff is now there too, a little further down the page). This is a little amazing (or maddening, depending on ones viewpoint) considering you don’t find my name anywhere in the source; I’m not doing a hell of a lot of linking to it, either. But now, curiosity whetted, I went a looking and so found that Yahoo! and AltaVista, for all concerned nothing but mirrored results these days, stick guff at the very top of the listings. And I find that this just keeps happening.
For those who think there’s something more to this than just being on the Internet, that I’ve somehow rigged the system to work to my favor: I’m now available for SEO consulting. I’m not cheap!

I’m super impressed with the freshness of the content of your blog. Most blogs I read have intermitent week long time lapses between updates.
I think it’s interesting that szub.net comes up first for the keyword Kaf without a single keyword reference in the source code. Although with a page rank of 7 at http://guff.szub.net/ I think you could get away with a lot more.
Take any non competitive term, put that keyword in a single link from your homepage to a page correctly optimized for that term and you’ll rank with single link.
LOVE your plugins, I don’t see how you’re making money from your website (excpet donation), so I hope you’re doing well with whatever you do. Do people really use the donate button?
Check out my blog if you would like, I’ll be releasing a full length feature film shortly. I’m super excited.
Note: my blog is non-themed so it’s about anything I’m currently working on or thinking about.
