Turn and face the strain
Changes, my friend. That’s what life is all about. Same goes for blog design. Let me tell you about the ch-ch-ch-ch-changes now underfoot:
Don’t want to be a richer man
One of the new bits you may have noticed is the PayPal-enabled “Make a Donation” button on the sidebar, which appears on the main page, the (new) WP Plugins page, and any post actually about one of my WordPress plugins. I’ve had quite a number of folk over the months ask how they might financially thank me for some help I provided or one or more of my plugins. Now there’s a way.
I don’t expect payment for work or support I voluntarily provide, so don’t feel as if you have to. It’s just that at the moment I’m looking for work, the web development that tends to keep me above water has dried up over the past few months, and my bank account is feeling the strain. What monies I receive this way go first towards hosting costs, which aren’t much. After that…well, I’m due for new shoes.
Strange fascination, fascinating me
As noted, there’s a new “szub-Section” on the sidebar: WP Plugins. This lists all WordPress plugins I’ve publically released on guff; you can sort the list by plugin name (i.e. post title), post date or last update (modified date).
WP Plugins is a sub-set of my WordPress category—if you’re a WordPress user interested in how it works, I am planning a post which covers the hows and whatnots on making such a Page template as this. It’s not all that hard. Trust me.
Every time I thought I’d got it made
Still speaking of the sidebar, I’ve made alterations to color there, as well as a few other places across the blog. Nothing major.
So I turned myself to face me
I’ve added Gravatars to post comments. So now you all can have next to your enlightened and erudite commentary a goofy picture of yourself. Hey, why not.
As they try to change their worlds
And comments can now be edited, thanks to Andrew over at Jalenack and his Edit Comments plugin. You should see an edit comment link in the upper right corner of any comment you submit, or at least you will for 30 minutes after the comment is initially posted.
So I don’t expect to see any more four-comments-in-a-row-on-the-same-issue type commenting. (Really!)
Of warm impermanence
I never figured out what that line meant…

Still don’t know what I was waiting for, and my time was running wild…
Nice to find a DB fan when looking for a WordPress plugin.
Thanks for the_excerpt_reloaded by the way.
…In the dead end streets and, Every time I thought I got it made it seems the taste is not so sweet.
So the days float through my eyes, but still the days seem the same. And these children that you spit on
as they try to change their worlds are immune to your consultations…
