Colorful crutch

I currently find myself slogging through a strange miasma of PHP (I think I just coined a phrase), a large dose of unfamiliar script I’m looking at to work a problem for a fellow WordPress user. Just minutes ago while scanning the lines of code, an overpowering desire came over me to switch the .txt extension on the file to .php. Why? So my text editor knows I’m working in PHP and magically blinks everything into pleasing and easy to read syntax-colored highlights.

Turns out, you get used to these things.
