Everybody expects the Spanish Inquisition

posted on April 22, 2005

Pope Benedict—Benny the Rat as some are impishly calling him—apparently doesn’t like countries gaying it up:

Pope Benedict XVI has responded firmly to the first challenge of his papacy by condemning a Spanish government bill allowing marriage between homosexuals.

Must…not…go…Python…on…Pope — too…easy — and…already…did…in…title…

Not to worry, because they won’t be giving a pass to the fag-enablers in all this:

The head of the Vatican’s Pontifical Council on the Family, Cardinal Alfonso Lopez Trujillo, denounced the legislation as profoundly iniquitous … He said every profession linked with implementing homosexual marriages should oppose it, even if it meant losing their jobs.

Thankfully on the employment front there’s plenty of openings (pun intended) in the church for workers of no-gay-no-way conscience. Just not any of those *wicked* kinds of jobs where carnal experiences with someone of the same sex is allowed. No, none of that will be tolerated. Unless you’re a priest with a predilection for young boys. Still not ok, but for that looking the other way is sort of a habit (pun intended).

Cardinal Trujillo, or as I’ll call him the Anti-Queen of Hearts, shows signs of having some small amount of brain matter:

The cardinal insisted that just because something was made law it did not make it right.

So true. The exact same thing can be said about the laws of the Church and even (*gasp*) the Bible. Not that the Cardinal ever would.

If there’s one thing you can say about this new Pope, it’s that he’s not about to let the title “extreme religious anti-gay bigot” be taken away by Evangelicals. I sense I’ll be getting a lot of blogging fodder out of Pope Benny, and that at least is a Good Thing™.

Benny the Rat is good. I am pleased to see someone standing up and saying so clearly that this Pope is as bigoted as a Georgia lynch mob. He just has a prettier house and clothes. If if were not so dangerous for these sociopaths to condemn gays, I could enjoy the absurdity of (ostensibly) celibate men in dresses deciding what is masculine and what is feminine.

Well said, Kaf. Please, if you have time, check out my article ‘Benny the Rat’ at http://www.orato.com. It’s in honor of Ratzo’s historic visit to the U.S.
