“Small” guff update
Little old guff is now traveling deeper in WordPress 1.5 territory. Two reasons for that:
- I’ve cleared out a lot of the PHP glue holding my site dynamics (a.k.a. the cool bits) together and moved completely to the new templating structure 1.5 provides.
For me it means a little extra work making changes to something affecting more than one part of the blog, but now I open a template and don’t spend a minute figuring it out; I like cool, but I like readability more.
For you it means absolutely nothing—so goeth behind-the-scene improvements.
- I’m now using Pages on guff. By that I mean WordPress’ concept of Pages, which is like a blog post, only outside the normal flow of time, or something. Anyway, the two szub sections links on the menu at left, which are I gotta be different and not have just your normal sort of Pages leading to the guff category and archive listings (menu links change according to your choice). Hopefully it’s not all confusing.
I think that’s it. I have another quickie plugin or two I might document and make available here next week, my first WordPress theme is now an official contestant in the 1.5 Theme Competition, I’m at work on another theme I’m looking to enter as well, and unless real life bangs on the door, I’ll be putting a printable version of the WordPress template tags list online by Monday latest.
You’d think I was working for the WordPress Corporation or something. Not that they pay very well.

Hey boss, I’m on my lunch break. Where’s the union rep!
Lunch break? I don’t see a lunch break in your collective bargaining agreement! Clap this man in irons and toss him into the brig!
