Counting my word

posted on March 6, 2005

According to WORDCOUNT (which I sadly have no reason to doubt), guff is the 64,853rd most frequently used word in the English language. That puts it before ofgas (huh?), but after qwerty. Do me a favor, and start using guff more often, because it really shouldn’t be surpassed by a non-word like qwerty. I mean, dvorak is at 49,276, which tells you what we really think of qwerty. How often do you even use it in everyday conversation? Me, almost never.

As an aside, web is 10,182nd, and internet resides at 30,525. Weblog and it’s word fragment, blog, aren’t even in the WORDCOUNT database. Then again, neither is jackass. This means absolutely nothing.

By the way, can you please get your minds out of the gutter? Really.

LMAO…I just checked “nuclear” and “moose”. They come in at 1268 and 29,893 respectively. I’ll have to write up something about “guff” to bring your count up! ;)
