Chapter values

posted on November 2, 2004

Day one has been a minimal undertaking on my part, comparatively, in that I only had 1,355 words at the stroke of midnight. But those 1,355 do end the first chapter, making it a short one. These things form themselves for their own purposes; I only try to control content, and could care less about the size. Size in the sense that does not include word count, anyway. But it’s total count for the novel that matters, not individual chapters, so I think I’m in a safe place here.

Cheers to the short changers! You know who you are.

Barring connectivity issues, or a hostile takeover by my internal editor over the length, I shall drop chapter one online sometime this morning, after a quick lookover to make sure no government secrets were accidentally slipped in. Gotta keep an eye on the security of our nation, you know.

Speaking of which: make sure to vote, my lazy fellow Americans.
