Where REAL journalists would start looking

Cheney was less forthcoming when asked about Saudi Arabia’s ties to al Qaeda and the Sept. 11 hijackers. “I don’t want to speculate,” he said, adding that Sept. 11 is “over with now, it’s done, it’s history and we can put it behind us.”

(Found but not forgotten on This Modern World)

Update: Just stumbled across mention of this on Eschaton, and Atrio’s link to Demagogue’s hand slap (which originates from Ramesh Ponnuru at NR’s The Corner (this follow-the-link thing is getting tiresome, huh?)) for the Post’s bad transcript reporting. So the bold content above is not really Cheney claiming 9/11 is something to throw on the trash heap of important events. Nevertheless, his refusal to “speculate” on Saudi Arabian ties to al Qaeda when he has no problem doing so (in spades) when Iraq is brought up only reinforces this blog entry’s title.
