The law apparently plays dice

RE the recent ruling that came down from the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco — you know, that all so important, front page covered one about having to claim oneself “under God” while swearing allegiance — Donald Downs, a LAW professor at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, said “this is going to get reversed. But then again, law is always a bit of a crapshoot.”

That’s right folks. Law is nothing but a gamble. Each court case is a fifty-fifty affair; no points go to authorial and community agreement or the like. Thank God for that.
